Concentration Finds the Way

Jan 8th, 2010 by admin

Everyone has two natures. One wants us to advance and the other wants to pull us back. The one that we cultivate and concentrate on decides what we are at the end. Both natures are trying to gain control. The will alone decides the issue. A man by one supreme effort of the will may change his whole career and almost accomplish miracles. You may be that man. You can be if you Will to be, for Will can find a way or make one. I could easily fill a book, of cases where men plodding along in a matter-of-fact way, were all at once aroused and as if awakening from a slumber they developed the possibilities within them and from that time on were different persons. You alone can decide when the turning point will come. It is a matter of choice whether we allow our diviner self to control us or whether we will be controlled by the brute within us. No man has to do anything he does not want to do. He is therefore the director of his life if he wills to be. What we are to do, is the result of our training. We are like putty, and can be completely controlled by our will power. Habit is a matter of acquirement. You hear people say: “He comes by this or that naturally, a chip off the old block,” meaning that he is only doing what his parents did. This is quite often the case, but there is no reason for it, for a person can break a habit just the moment he masters the “I will.” A man may have been a “good-for-nothing” all his life up to this very minute, but from this time on he begins to amount to something. Even old men have suddenly changed and accomplished wonders. “I lost my opportunity,” says one. That may be true, but by sheer force of will, we can find a way to bring us another opportunity. There is no truth in the saying that opportunity knocks at our door but once in a lifetime. The fact is, opportunity never seeks us; we must seek it. What usually turns out to be one man’s opportunity, was another man’s loss. In this day one man’s brain is matched against another’s. It is often the quickness of brain action that determines the result. One man thinks “I will do it,” but while he procrastinates the other goes ahead and does the work. They both have the same opportunity. The one will complain of his lost chance. But it should teach him a lesson, and it will, if he is seeking the path that leads to success. Many persons read good books, but say they do not get much good out of them. They do not realize that all any book or any lesson course can do is to awaken them to their possibilities; to stimulate them to use their will power. You may teach a person from now until doom’s day, but that person will only know what he learns himself. “You can lead him to the fountain, but you can’t make him drink.” One of the most beneficial practices I know of is that of looking for the good in everyone and everything, for there is good in all things. We encourage a person by seeing his good qualities and we also help ourselves by looking for them. We gain their good wishes, a most valuable asset sometimes. We get back what we give out. The time comes when most all of us need encouragement; need buoying up. So form the habit of encouraging others, and you will find it a wonderful tonic for both those encouraged and yourself, for you will get back encouraging and uplifting thoughts. Life furnishes us the opportunity to improve. But whether we do it or not depends upon how near we live up to what is expected of us. The first of each month, a person should sit down and examine the progress he has made. If he has not come up to “expectations” he should discover the reason, and by extra exertion measure up to what is demanded next time. Every time that we fall behind what we planned to do, we lose just so much for that time is gone forever. We may find a reason for not doing it, but most excuses are poor substitutes for action. Most things are possible. Ours may be a hard task, but the harder the task, the greater the reward. It is the difficult things that really develop us, anything that requires only a small effort, utilizes very few of our faculties, and yields a scanty harvest of achievement. So do not shrink from a hard task, for to accomplish one of these will often bring us more good than a dozen lesser triumphs. rss bot

Improve Focus and Concentration Plan

Jan 4th, 2010 by admin

You think you figured out what is keeping you from focusing on work or school studies and you have dealt with it. You found that nice quiet place to do your work or you have figured out how to control the things around you to the point where you can focus. You have also learned to stop doing things like procrastinating and have learned to control stress and anxiety.
However, after everything you have done to get your mind to focus you are still having problems with your mind swimming with all kinds of thoughts. It does not matter how hard you try, if fact the more you try to concentrate on what you are doing the more you find that you cannot focus. Therefore, you find yourself looking through the widow or deep in thought while your project still needs to be finished.
Most of the time it is because we have not properly thought of the ultimate goal that keeps us from concentrating. If you do not know what it is that you want or need to do it can be a little tough to get started right? I mean, you can not take a successful road trip if you do not know which direction you want to go in or at least where you want to go.
So now is the time to sit down and set your goals, decide where it is you want to go and what it is that you want to do. If you find that your goal is a little hard to reach, just break it down into smaller goals that do not seem so overwhelming. You have to have a plan in order to get anywhere in life; even the smallest tasks need to have a plan of completion.
Having a plan can help you to easily overcome the overwhelmed feeling you have, which in turn will help you concentrate on the task at hand. The thing is, you know what it is that you want, you know how to get what it is that you want and you know how to get to that point. If you follow the plan you will get to the place you need to be in order to get what it is that you are looking for.
Now you have all that figured out. You have your goals set and you have you plan all planned out but wait, your assignment still has to be done and your thoughts are still scattered. You are still finding it hard to focus on the task at hand and getting it all your thoughts in order. If you still find you head swimming with thoughts it may be best to write all them down.
You can even try keeping a journal, this can help you decide what it is that you are really focusing on and then learn how to direct that focus where you need it to be. It would be really nice if we could all focus with the sharpness of a laser on the task at hand but unfortunately, it is unlikely that anyone can be as sharply focused as a laser.
When you are trying to focus on the project at hand and all other thoughts seem to be disabling us from doing so it is time to relax and find yourself in the Alpha State of mind where the mind is most creative. There are many things that we need to learn in order to keep our minds focused on the things that we need it to focus on.
We need to learn to block thoughts that are unwanted, keep our minds from being overwhelmed, make our attention spans longer, switch from one certain project to another and keep our minds from wondering around to other things. A Sick Company Needs to Concentrate on its Core Competence

Dec 31st, 2009 by admin

The surgeon operates only one patient at a time. Similarly, a sick company needs to concentrate on its core competence.
During the turnaround phase when the company is on the brink of bankruptcy, there are time and resource constraints. The company needs to concentrate all its resources on doing a few major things right.
You should have a laser-sharp focus just as a surgeon focuses on only one operative field during surgery. If you are a patient, you will not allow your surgeon to operate on you and another patient simultaneously.
Similarly, an ailing company needs to concentrate only on its core competence and try to rid itself of activities that do not help the bottom-line targets as well as those that do not immediately improve its cash flow. Under such critical circumstances, you can even succeed at far lower cost by ensuring that you do a better job with the businesses and skills you already have.
In order to release resources for its core business, the ailing company has to divest any unprofitable or non-related businesses. Quite often, in their bid to bolster sales performance, troubled companies clinch lots of sales contracts with thin profit margin. This tantamount to buying sales and they often turned into subsequent financial losses. Such a scenario is equivalent to having a lot of sizzle but no steak.
It is better to amputate all loss-making ventures and unprofitable sales whenever possible. According to the standard surgical procedure if there is pus, get it removed.
In fact, the famous Chinese military strategist Sun Tzu believed in the principle of concentration in fighting a war. He said: “The strength of an army does not depend on large forces. Do not advance relying on sheer numbers. Rather, one must concentrate one’s forces and anticipate correctly the movement of the enemy in order to capture him.”
To compete in the global market, it is important to narrow your focus to a specific segment, Olivetti has lost its competitiveness as its product lines proliferate from typewriters to computers. When the market is 58 million people in Italy, a broad line is all right. But when Olivetti went global it could not compete.
Hyundai, S Korea a major conglomerate also lost focus in the quest for expansion. It is involved in all kinds of businesses ranging from chemicals, ship-building, engineering, automotive, pharmaceutical, etc. As a result it confuses the minds of the customers. When the financial crisis hit S Korea in 1997, Hyundai was one of the first chaebols to fall apart. Marketing will need to be focusing on specific niches for the riches are usually found in niches.
The soft drink giant Coca-Cola tried to venture into the bottled water market in Europe with the launch of ‘pure’water Dasani. News broke out that the Coca-Cola’s treated tap water contains cancer-causing chemical and it had to withdraw the Dasani from the market, creating a lot of bad taste. Although Coke drinks and ‘pure’ water are in the soft drinks category, the technology and know-how can be quite different. Coca-Cola should have stayed with the ‘real thing’, its core competence.
Remember to have laser sharp focus. The laser is actually a weak source of energy. A laser takes a few watts of energy and focuses them in a coherent stream of light. A few watts of energy are not useful. However, laser is able to drill through diamond, the hardest rock and eradicate cancer cells as well for lasik treatment. Similarly, companies with laser sharp focus can dominate a market. When a company is not focused, its limited energy gets dissipated over too many products or markets. Dr Mike Teng (DBA, MBA, BEng) is the author of best-selling book, “Corporate Turnaround: Nursing a Sick Company back to Health.” He is known as the “Turnaround CEO in Asia” by the media.Check out the Corporate Turnaround ebooks and video at www.CorporateTurnAroundExpert.comWordpress Autoblogging Plugin

The Miracle of Touch on Memory, Concentration and Survival

Dec 28th, 2009 by admin

For hundreds of years, we have known that touch is not only a sensation that can be enjoyed, but it is also absolutely necessary for our survival. It was German emperor Frederick II who, through his cruel experiments back in the 13th century, discovered the human need for body contact. He devised experiments which involved a group of orphans who were separated from others in an orphanage. This group’s only contact was with the foster mother and wet nurses who bathed or nursed them. However, the women were neither allowed to speak nor show any affection to the children under their charge. The conclusion of this experiment was horrific – none of the children survived.

Touches are important, it is a means of creating relationships. As a matter of fact, humans cannot do without touch, it is just as important as food and water. Children and adults alike need hugs to give them a sense of security and safety. Kisses or even a squeeze of a hand give helps us express intimacy. There are many ways we express our social bonds through touch, a business-like handshake builds rapport and trust, a friendly pat on the back for a colleague or teammate give a sense of self-worth. Different cultures from around the world have different rituals concerning touch in their social settings. The Eskimos and the Maori people of New Zealand, for example, rub noses as a form of greeting. The Ipo of New Guinea tickle the chin, the equivalent of a handshake for the rest of us. Hugs, embraces and body contact promote health and well-being and psychologists agree that touch is an important aspect of human existence. The human skin is extremely sensitive to touch. There are close to 700 touch and pressure receptors on a single finger tip. These receptors help us feel minute irregularities of the skin as tiny as a 100th of a millimeter thick. This is as accurate as state of the art laser measuring instruments.

Today, scientists are beginning to find out how skin contact, massage or stroking affects the body and mind. Certain hormones are released when the sensory cells are touched in a mild and pleasant manner. Growth hormones are produced by young mammals when they are licked, cleaned and nudged by their mothers. Medical researchers have found that premature human babies breathe more deeply when they lie naked on their mother’s or father’s bellies for hours. The infant’s heartbeat may even slow down and can be a life-saver for the premature baby. Medical studies also confirm the calming and healthy aspect of massages. Newborn babies gain weight more quickly, have deeper sleep are less stressed and are more active.

Touch not only feels good but it enhances health and mental capability. A study on a group of patients suffering from Alzheimer’s disease show a combination of massage and electrical stimulation of the skin over a period of six weeks led to a dramatic improvement in both memory and mood. Other studies have concluded that healthy adults also benefit from just 15 minutes of massage per day. Test volunteers were able to solve mathematical problems faster and make fewer mistakes, as well as reporting that they felt calmer. Scientists believe oxytocin to be one of the hormones released, which produces a series of chain reaction opposite to the effects stress produces on the body. This leads to higher pain tolerance, lower blood pressure and more beneficial stimulation of the digestive system.

So if you’re having stress at work, studies or having difficulties with memory and concentration due to stress, give yourself a massage on the shoulders or the head. If you know of someone in the family having such problems, a 5-minute shoulder or head rub goes a very long way to a healthier and stronger emotional and physical state. It also goes a long way towards creating trust and bonds. Martin Mak has developed a program to help people improve their memory and enhance their learning experience. Improve Focus and Concentration: Studying For Exams

Dec 23rd, 2009 by admin

For many students, when exams are announced, a fear overcomes them. A sense of dread fills them and they panic. This is due in part because exams are a very stressful time for many students. The fear of getting a bad grade, or worse failing the exam forces the student to literally keep their nose in a book, studying hour after hour, for weeks on end.
Perhaps the worst part of knowing an exam is approaching. The pressure builds and it makes if difficult to concentrate on studying. To study successfully, and retain what you have read, requires extreme concentration. This is called productive studying. Believe it or not, it is not as easy as it sounds.
Many people find that the pressure of upcoming exams stunts their power of concentration. They are unable to focus on just one subject long enough to retain the information necessary to pass the exams. There are some steps that you can take to assist you in concentrating.
The first thing you should do is to find a quiet place to study. Do not sit in the living room with the television on, you will find yourself watching TV instead of studying. This is the number on distraction for teenagers. Another big distraction is trying to study with music on in the background. You need a quiet place where you will not be disturbed by siblings or normal household activities. Those who say they can study better with music on do not realize that they are actually creating a distraction for themselves.
When you find a quiet place to study, make sure that you will be comfortable and the lighting is adequate. You do not want to strain your eyes trying to read, it will only give you a headache. You also do not want to study in the cellar or garage; these places usually are musty and can distract you from studying from a subconscious level.
When you choose a place to study, it is not recommended that you study outdoors. On a beautiful spring day, you may find yourself taking a catnap instead of studying. Drinking a beverage that has caffeine in it may help you to stay awake. You are also chancing running into friends that may also distract you from studying. Choosing the perfect place to study is crucial to your concentration. It should be well lit and well ventilated, with nothing to stimulate your senses at all.
It is important that you study one subject at a time. You may also be hurting your chances of retaining what you have studied when it is time to take your exam you are risking failure. Studying multiple subjects at the same time will only aid in confusing you, and when you take your exam, you may get the subjects confused.
It is important that you develop good study habits in your early school years. As you go up in grades it will become more difficult because you will have more subjects to study. Concentration is the key to good study habits. These habits will follow you through your adult life. When you create good study habits, you are increasing power of concentration that is necessary in everyday life. Tips for Laser Like Focus and Concentration

Dec 22nd, 2009 by admin

When you set goals for yourself, whether is in school or the workforce, it is important that you concentrate on the task at hand to obtain those objectives. For millions of people, it is not that easy.
It is difficult to obtain your objectives if you do not know what they are. It is necessary to
define what your goals are. This will assist you obtaining them. When you have clear and concise objectives, you will be able to focus and concentrate better.
When you take on too many tasks at one time, you are setting yourself up for failure. Overwhelming yourself with too many tasks will inhibit your ability to focus because you will stress about getting everything done on time. Doing one thing at a time will help you to concentrate better.
If the task that you have is a big one, breaking it down in segments will assist you in completing more competently. Focus on the segment that you are working on and not the whole project. Concentrating on the task in front of you will allow you to complete it correctly with very little stress, and more often than not, you can complete it before the deadline.
No matter who you are, expect the unexpected. There are no guarantees that you are going to have a error proof life. Obstacles always crop up and you need to be prepared to handle whatever is thrown at you in order to meet your goals. Distractions are all around us everyday, being able to shut them out and concentrate on your task will assist you in completing it quickly and efficiently.
Success and recognition is gained over time. Nothing worth having is easy. You need to be able to concentrate and do the very best that you can in everything that you do. It is important that you do not give in to stress, it will only slow you down and concentration will be difficult if not impossible. Sometimes taking a short break will help you to regain your focus and concentration. You may find that by doing this, your focus will improve.
To be a success, sacrifice is sometimes required. It is like an exchange. You will give up one thing to gain another. You just need to make sure that what you give up is worth what you are gaining. If you have a job that requires you to focus intensely on your task, you may want to remove the telephone from your desk, as each time it rings, your concentration is broken. When you remove the daily distractions you are doing something that can help you to focus on your job.
Putting things off is the number one cause of stress. When you put things off, they tend to creep up on you all at once and you find yourself with a multitude of tasks that need to be finished all at once. This not only causes stress that leads to loss of concentration, it also can cause you to become overwhelmed with work, and that can lead difficulties in focusing. When you do what you are supposed to do at the time you are supposed to do it, you will find that your concentration will be stronger. Tough Times Means Concentration – Part One

Dec 21st, 2009 by admin

Copyright (c) 2009 Mind Body Spirit Central, LLC Many people come to me who can not seem to accomplish their objectives in life, no matter what written or oral counsel they have listened to. Perhaps you are in the same predicament right now! Maybe there is currently a crisis in your life, such as the possibility that you could lose your job. As a result you feel totally powerless and out of control. Or, your needs are such in that you just can not break that long standing, bad habit that is ruining your health and wellness. And again, you feel powerless. What is standing in your way, blocking your path to getting what you want, when you want it? Why is it so difficult to take control of your life? As a human being you have two natures. One nature wants to advance and make positive progress in your life – pursue an education, a fulfilling career, a loving family and supportive friends. The second is negative and wants to hold you back – perhaps it is fear, self-doubt as to whether you deserve good and positive outcomes, or the sheer terror of stepping out of your comfort zone when life does not go your way. Both of your natures are trying to gain control. Your “will power” alone decides the issue. When you put aside your fear, the one nature you concentrate on and develop determines what you will become. You can completely control and concentrate your thoughts to create “opportunity”. John F. Kennedy once said, “When written in Chinese, the word “crisis” is composed of two characters. One represents danger and the other represents opportunity.” To see OPPORTUNITY in any crisis situation, embed in your mind my five-step “attitude” adjustment… 1) Know that is by supreme effort of your concentration and determination that YOU can change your whole life and accomplish miracles. 2) Believe that YOU can be that person. 3) Remember, only YOU, and you, alone can decide when the “tipping point” in your life will come. When you develop a concentrated, strong will power you will find a way or make a way. 4) Decide whether YOU will allow your positive inner self to control you or whether you will be controlled by negative internal or external forces. 5) And finally, YOU must develop the belief within that you can become the director of your life – if you will it to be. You also have many habits that you have acquired during your life, both good and bad. When habits affect you negatively, know that you can break a habit when you masters the “I will…” Your age is not a barrier. In fact, concentration of your will is not hindered by your age, color, race or gender! Many have changed and accomplished great things. Some people may say “I lost my opportunity”. That may be true, but by sheer force of will, you can find a way to bring new opportunity into your life. There is no truth in the saying that opportunity knocks at our door but once in a lifetime. The reality is opportunity exists all around us, 24-hours a day, 7 days a week. It does not find us. We need to find it. Today, your brain is matched against another’s. It is often the quickness of brain action (not reaction) that determines the result. One person thinks “I will do it…”, but while he procrastinates the other goes ahead and takes advantage of the opportunity. They both had an equal shot at the same opportunity. The one will complain of his lost chance and it should teach him a lesson. It will, if he is seeking the path that leads to success. You may teach a person, but that person will only know when he takes the initiative to learn to concentrate on his own. Every time you do not concentrate, you fall behind on what you planned to do and the result is, you lose a lot. That precious time is gone forever. Every day, you have 1,440 minutes at your disposal. That’s the exactly same amount of time that successful people like, a Bill Gates or a Nelson Mandela, have each day. You may find reasons for not getting things done, but most excuses are poor substitutes for ACTION. Most things in life are possible. You may have tasks that are hard, but the harder the task, the greater the reward. It is the difficult things that really develop you. Anything that requires only a small effort utilizes very few of your faculties and yields a little in the way of achievement. So do not shrink from a hard task. To accomplish tasks that are hard will often bring you more benefits than a dozen lesser accomplishments. Write down on a 3″ x 5″ index card, my five-step attitude adjustment plan and review it daily. I hope that this will get you off of your behind and working on taking control of your life through concentration. Keith A. Shaw, President of http://www.MindBodySpiritCentral.com . 9 Activities to Help Improve your Working Memory and Concentration

Dec 14th, 2009 by admin

10 Activities To Help Improve Your Working Memory And Concentration

———-

You are capable to remember an extreme amount of facts. But your short term memory can always hold only a limited amount of things. But the working memory could actually be the very core of our intelligence. And it doesn’t matter what kind of education you’ve had, everyone can improve their mental capabilities. This article contains ten activities to help improve your working memory.

Activity 1: Eat

Imagine you bought that brand new car you’ve dreamt about. But instead of putting some gasoline in the tank, you fill it up with diesel and casually throw in a handful of sand. You probably won’t be surprised when the car doesn’t really get far. Your brain also needs the right fuel to work at its best. Try eating a balanced diet rich in omega-3 fats, antioxidants, (brocolli, blueberries spinache and berries for example). I also recommend eating more frequently, it prevents large dips in your blood sugar, the main source of energy for your brain.

Activity 2: Turn on the music

Psychologists and scientists have been looking at the connection between the music and the working memory for many years and many studies have found that music, especially classical, improves the storage and recall of information in the human memory.

Activity 3: Reduce stress.

Stress does not physically damage the brain, but it can make remembering things more difficult. Even temporary stresses have a negative effect on your working memory.

Activity 4: Pay attention

Often we fail to remember things, not because our memory isn’t good, but just because we weren’t paying attention. Many people encounter this when they forget peoples names. If you deliberatly try to remember things, you’re more likely to succeed

Activity 5: Group things

It’s hard to keep a random list of items in your head, did you ever forget something when grocery shopping? But you can make it easier for yourself. If you can remember that three of the things you needed were vegetables, you would probably also remember what they were.

Activity 6: Think Back

Here’s another great mental exercise. First of all, relax comfortably in an easy chair or on your bed. When you are really relaxed, start the exercise.

Start by mentally paying attention to yourself. Then go back and think of yourself going into the room. Keep on going back through the memories of the day. Every time you do this, it will be easier, and you can remember more and more details every time.

Activity 7: Strengthen your neural connections

This is an exercise can even create new neural connactions.

Grab the mouse with the hand you normally don’t use it with. It’s probably harder to be precise and accurate with your motions. You could easily try some of these exercises everyday. It is important to challenge your brain to learn new tasks, especially processes that you’ve never done before.

- Use your opposite hand to brush your teeth

- Dial the phone or operate the TV remote.

- Draw symtrically by making the same movements with two hands

Activity 8: include more of your senses in an everyday task:

Get dressed with your eyes closed

Wash your hair with your eyes closed

Share a meal and use only visual cues to communicate. No talking.

Activity 9: Walk

Walking is especially good for your brain, because it enhances the blood flow, which results in oxygen and energy reaching your brain more efficiently. As walking isn’t intensive, your legs also won’t use up extra oxygen and blood sugar. Walking can create a clear head and improve your working memory.

Seven Easy Steps to Improve Your Concentration Powers

Dec 8th, 2009 by admin

If you have the willpower you can easily learn the skill of mastering the power of concentration very quickly.
You’ve heard the saying,” If there is a will, there is a way” the same holds true with concentration. Diane Sawyer is a very popular and well-known television news correspondent. When Diane was once asked about what has lead to her professional success, she had only one answer. That answer was being able to paying attention.
So the question still remains, “How do you learn to maintain your focus and enhance your concentration?”
The list below is helpful suggestions to improve your ability to concentrate in the most effective way possible. These tips apply whether you are at school, an important business meeting, at your office busy with work, or if you are just trying to finish a specific project.
1. Do five more
You are either one of two types of persons in this world. Either you know how to go through and eliminate frustration or you are the type that only wishes they are able to work through it.
So try to concentrate and focus in doing an additional five more things. This type of mantra is best used when you feel like giving up.
An example might be if you are reading or writing and you no longer want to continue to read or write, push yourself to do just five more pages. Complete five more math questions or if you are exercising add and extra five minutes on the treadmill. Remember that athletes build their own physical physiques by pushing themselves to the point of exhaustion, that also helps to develop mental stamina.
2. Take one step at a time
There may be times when you feel like you are a scatterbrain because your mind is filled with many ideas. Controlling your brain is the key.
Do not worrying about lots of matters, prioritize tasks and do only those that are needed.
For instance, you cannot help but think of your mounting bill problems and this causes you to quit focusing on your presentation that needs to be done in five minutes. Tell yourself that after the presentation you can then focus on ways to pay off your bills. This gives your mind closure and allows you to focus completely on the presentation.
3. Get tunnel vision
You can actually cup your hands around your eyes and this could serve as a mechanism to tell your mind to stay on task.
Case in point: you are in a room and you need to study but there are many distractions preventing you from concentrating. Cupping your hands around your eyes will help your brain to remember to focus and keep it on task.
4. Keep a notepad handy
That way when a thought pops up and distracts your focus, you can write down the thought immediately.
By writing it down you effectively get the thought out of your mind. Now you will focus on the job that you need to accomplish at the moment.
5. Take a break
You are not a machine. You may need to take a break to be able to effectively focus on the job that you have to do.
You can mange the job more effectively by using breaks to break your tasks it to smaller parts. Try taking a walk outside or go out for lunch.
6. Record your start and end time
When doing work, try to record the time you started and the time that you loss focus.
This helps you know how much time you actually spent doing work and when you began losing your concentration. Being aware of this leads to understanding.
7. Mix up your activities
It is wise to change the activities you do so that you keep your mind alert and not bored.
A bored mind is not completely on its game and will wander.
All in all, these activities and suggestions should be practiced regularly to help you to be able to focus and concentrate on the things that really matter most to you. Concentration: Can Self Hypnosis Help With Concentration

Dec 7th, 2009 by admin

If you need help with concentration, you can find the support you need within your own mind. A hypnosis CD can be a wonderful guide that helps you improve your memory and focus. You have many options available to consider in this approach. Focusing on Focus Your subconscious mind is a vast resource that has much to offer. Your habits, sensations and subtle emotional responses are housed in this realm of your mind. The inner thought processes that you are not even aware of in your daily routine heavily influence your conscious realm. Your core belief system is a primary factor in your ability to stay on task. Focus and attentiveness seem to occur primarily on the conscious level but you rely on your subconscious to help you maintain proper deliberation as you complete activities. Self-hypnosis is a tool that allows you to reach your subconscious mind in order to achieve greater focus and awareness. Subconscious Focus Consider your deepest beliefs about yourself and your abilities. You may think that you have difficulty staying on task. You expect to be easily distracted no matter how intensely you want to stay focused. Your core beliefs and you expectations disrupt you ability for concentrating properly. You expect to lose focus on a subconscious level. No matter how hard you try to concentrate on a conscious level, your inner thoughts work against your efforts. Your conscious mind begins to realize that you are not staying focused and you become distracted by your own expectations. This self-fulfilling prophesy of sort is a pattern of thought that needs to change in order for you to overcome your trouble with inattentiveness. Changing these patterns is nearly impossible to do on a conscious level you need to address the problem where it rests—in the subconscious realm. Subconscious Focus Self-Hypnosis Help with Concentration Self hypnosis is the ideal approach to improving memory and attentiveness because you work directly with the realm of habit and inner thought patterns. This process helps you establish new core beliefs about your ability to stay on task. You also learn how to relax and think clearly. Relaxation is a key element in the ability to take in and recall information. When you have anxious and stressful feelings, you are unable to maintain focus on the task. Your mind begins to try to sort through the uncomfortable feelings rather than on the activity. Self-hypnosis helps you get control of your emotions and your thought processes. You are better able to relax, making focus much easier. You begin to fall into the habit of concentrating because you practice concentration as you undergo hypnosis.
